We have had a great month learning about how different families celebrate!  Some highlights have been making a pinata, playing dreidel, making Kwanzaa necklaces, eating latkes, making Eid chains and  Diwali bracelets!  Of course, while we are doing this, we have been playing games and doing activities that help us practice our reading, math, and writing skills.  This week we will be doing lots of Christmas activities.  The holiday break starts on Friday.  I hope all of you have a great two weeks off with lots of family time!  Hug those precious kindergartners!  What a gift they are to this world!

Moustache Day was a huge success!  Who knew a kindergartner with a moustache could be so adorable?

I was so sorry to have missed our Thanksgiving feast and school celebration, but here are some pictures of our cute little pilgrims!

Thanks parents for such positive productive conferences!  It's nice to have such great support!

We have been learning about nutrition this past week.  You would be proud of your children for trying different snacks.  Gooseberries and peppers were two of the snacks we tried.   Even the picky eaters decided they weren't too bad!

Thanks for sending in baby pictures for our "Guess the Baby"  bulletin board.  We had a great time trying to figure out the mystery babies.  They are all adorable!

Thanksgiving is coming up and we will be busy planning our Thanksgiving feast!  Look for the note in the next homework folder asking for a contribution to our Friendship Stew. Yum!

Change of plans!  In hopes of avoiding snow, our fall field trip will be on Tuesday, October 23!  Please send your child dressed appropriately! Thanks for being flexible! :)

Busy! Busy! Busy!  That's what we are in kindergarten!  We have wrapped up our unit on transportation.  The highlights were our trip to the fire station and our visit from Buster the Bus!  We all love Buster!  He's such a good friend to help us learn about bus safety!

Over the next few weeks we will be learning about fall.  We will be talking about changes in weather, plants, and animals.  Our fall field trip is on Wednesday, October 24. Hopefully we will have a few more days of this lovely fall weather, so the kinders will have a chance to learn first hand what fall is all about!

I am so proud of the hard work the kinders have been doing in reading and in math.  Students have been working hard to learn their letters  and sight words!  We are on the road to becoming excellent readers! For a fun way to practice letters, click on the word Starfall on the right. We have also been learning our numbers to 9.  We will know how to count, write, and recognize them by the end of the week.
